Product Description
Songs, Psalms and Spirituals is a photocopiable resource providing varied choral arrangements of attractive and easily learned material, including choral arrangements of worship songs and a varied selection of psalms and spirituals.
This new collection differs from its predecessors in that it is not tied to any festival, occasion or season of the church year. It has therefore been possible to include many lovely items that were not appropriate for The Carol Book, The Carol Book Supplement or Season by Season.
Songs, Psalms and Spirituals contains more than 50 items in a range of contemporary
styles of the highest standard, varied and attractive, which will give pleasure to choirs
and help meet the needs of their worshipping communities.
The items in this book are mainly in 4 parts (SATB). However, the accompanying
CD-ROM offers a range of extra material:
- arrangements for 3-part choir (soprano, alto and men)
- arrangements for 2-part singing (either 2 equal voices or upper and men’s
voices)
- arrangements for unison singing
- alternative accompaniments for piano or keyboard without pedals
- items in a different (usually lower) key
- vocal parts alone (with accompaniment cues where necessary), reducing the
number of pages needed for photocopying
- accompaniments alone (with vocal cues), reducing the amount of page turning
otherwise necessary in a long items
In addition, the CD-ROM contains an audio section, recorded by Sarum Voices,
offering 10 beautifully performed examples of the range of material available.
With such a variety of material, choirs of all standards will be thrilled with what
Songs, Psalms and Spirituals can offer them.
