Messe for Organ by Denis B├®dard

Denis B├®dard's "Messe" (Mass) for solo organ was commissioned by Monaco Cathedral for the cathedral's centenary festivities. It was premiered by Olivier Vernet on December 8, 2011, during a solemn mass which included the benediction of the cathedral's new organ. The work is in five movements: Entr├®e, M├®ditation, Offertoire, Communion and Sortie. The Entr├®e, the M├®ditation and the Sortie are based on Gregorian chants (Salve Regina and Ave Maris Stella), whereas the Communion consists of variations on the hymn O Sanctissima. The Offertoire is a brilliant work on original themes. 1- Entr├®e 2- M├®ditation sur ┬½ Salve Regina ┬╗ 3- Offertoire 4- Communion (Variations sur ┬½ O Sanctissima ┬╗) 5- Sortie (Fantaisie sur ┬½ Ave Maris Stella ┬╗)
