PART I: THE CHRISTIAN YEAR
Advent
Creator of the stars of night (Office Hymn)
O heavenly word of God on high (Office Hymn)
Come thou long expected Jesus
Earth was waiting, spent and restless *
Hark, a herald voice is calling
Hark the glad sound! The Saviour comes
Hark what a sound, and too divine for hearing*
Hills of the north rejoice
Joy to the world *
Lift up your heads, ye mighty gates
Lo, he comes with clouds descending
Longing for light *
O Child of promise, come! *
O come, O come, Emmanuel!
On Jordan’s bank the Baptist’s cry
O quickly come, dread judge of all
People look East *
Praise to you, O Christ our Saviour *
The advent of our God
The Lord will come and not be slow
This is the truth sent from above *
Wake, O wake! with tidings thrilling
When came in flesh the incarnate Word
When the king shall come again *
Ye servants of the Lord
Christmas
Come thou redeemer of the earth (Office Hymn)
From East to West, from shore to shore (Office Hymn)
Of the Father’s heart begotten (Office Hymn Compline)
A great and mighty wonder
Angels from the realms of glory *
Behold the great creator makes
Born in the night, Mary’s child *
Christians awake, salute the happy morn
Gaudete * (verses in English, refrain in Latin)
God rest you merry, gentlemen
Good Christians all, rejoice *
Hark, the herald angels sing
How brightly shines the morning star
In the bleak midwinter
O come, all ye faithful (in English and Latin)
O little town of Bethlehem
On Christmas night, all Christians sing *
On this day earth shall ring *
Once in royal David’s city
See amid the winter’s snow *
Shepherds left their flocks astraying *
Silent night, holy night
The first Nowell
The great God of heaven is come down to earth
Unto us a boy is born
What child is this, who, laid to rest
When he is king *
Whence is that goodly fragrance? *
Where is this stupendous stranger?
While shepherds watched their flocks by night
First Sunday of Christmas
Behold, a little child *
The growing limbs of God the Son
Epiphany
Why impious Herod (Office Hymn)
Among earth’s multitude of lights *
As with gladness men of old
Bethlehem of noblest cities
Brightest and best of the sons of the morning
From the Eastern mountains
Hail, thou source of every blessing
Baptism of Christ
The sinless one to Jordan came
Sundays of Epiphany
O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness
Hail to the Lord’s anointed

Ah, Holy Jesu, how hast thou offended
All ye who seek a comfort sure
Be thou my guardian and my guide
Christian, dost thou see them
Enter our hearts, O Holy Lord *
Forgive our sins, as we forgive
Forty days and forty nights
From ashes to the living font *
God of mercy and compassion *
Jesus, the sun of ransomed earth *
Jesu, Lord of life and glory
Lord, in this thy mercy’s day
Lord Jesus, as we turn from sin
Lord Jesus, think on me
My faith looks up to thee
My God, I love thee; not because
Now is the healing time decreed *
O Christ our true and only light *
O for a heart to praise my God
O thou who dost accord us
Take up thy cross, the Saviour said
The glory of these forty days *
Wilt thou forgive that sin *
With joy and by the Spirit led *
