Lead me, O Lord is the first piece that I had published by the RSCM as part of the excellent King James Bible service book, The Word Revealed. By contrast with the usual Wesley SATB Lead me Lord, this is scored flexibly for SA+Men. The aim here is to make a singable piece for church choirs who suffer from the frequent problem of not having enough tenors or basses. Strong oscillating triadic harmonies in the organ underpin a vocal melody which rises and falls.Tension is increased during this invocation by the introduction of some noteworthy modulations.
