Missa Omnes Sancti was commissioned by the Civic Church of All Saints, Northampton, for its choir and director of music, Edward Whiting. Since All Saints has two organs, the brief was to compose a messe solenelle in the French Romantic style. However, the work can be equally effectively performed using one organ and following the instructions on the copy. Latin text
