When the original SATB/organ version of my King’s College Service was published back in 2019 little did I know that it would become an RSCM best-seller and the piece which choral singers are most likely to mention when they meet me. It makes me happy every time someone tells me that it’s “a joy to sing” because I care deeply that my music not only enhances the meaning of the words but that it feels good to sing. Commissioned by Ben Parry for King’s Voices this set of canticles has since been sung by church, cathedral and chapel choirs throughout the UK and USA, recorded by the Choir of St John’s College Cambridge (receiving the above review) and London Voices, and broadcast many times on Radio 3. Due to popular demand, the King’s College Service now exists in three versions: - SATB/organ - SA/organ - SATB unaccompanied This latest, unaccompanied version was commissioned by Caius Lee, Director of Music at Worcester College, Oxford.
