The Latin words meaning ‘Lift
up your hearts’ – words spoken or sung by the priest and people at the start of the Eucharistic Prayer.
A set of sentences (often taken from the Bible) which are sung or said by a minister and choir / congregation. The minister sings the versicle, and the choir replies with the response.
A piece of music played on the organ before, during or after a service.
