                                                                  Using the voice well
Like sport, singing requires regular training and exercise in order to keep all the muscles and vocal functions strong. The whole body is involved in singing – your body is your musical instrument. This means that how you stand or sit will affect your singing voice. If you feel tired, stressed or unwell you will notice a difference in how your voice works. Even what we eat can affect how well the voice works!
This section of the book will give you some ideas about how you can look after your voice and body, and how you can get the best out of your singing voice.
Remember to look in your Voice for Life Singer’s Workbook – this is full of helpful tips and advice on looking after your voice, and gives lots of vocal exercises you can use to strengthen and improve your singing.
