Description

Details

Ed Rex’s setting of Do not stand at my grave and weep (poem attributed to Mary Frye) is homophonic throughout. After a simple start, the chords gradually thicken and become richer – well worth learning for choirs who can happily divide in all parts and hold notes a major or minor second apart.

Composer's note
In 2009 I was asked to write a piece for the wedding of some friends of mine, and the resulting setting of Rumi’s This Marriage was my first published work. Do not stand at my grave and weep follows on from that as the second in a series for what are traditionally the three most important services of a person’s life. It is dedicated to my grandfather.
